The Monastery of the Holy Archangel Michael is a monastic community for men under the omophorion of the Bishop of the Diocese of the South in the OCA. We labor to follow Jesus Christ by living the Gospel in a spirit of peace and absolute love, by adhering to the Traditions and Canons of the Orthodox Church, and emulating Christ and all the monastics such as St. Antony, St. Arsenius, St. Sabbas, St. Nil Sorsky and St. Silouan that have gone before us. In this way we find meaning in our lives, by being authentic persons living with one another in a relationship of love.
It was said of Abba Arsenius that he often asked himself,
"Arsenius, why did you come to the desert?"
