The Monastery of the Holy Archangel Michael is a monastic community for men under the Omophorion of Hierarch of the Diocese of the South, who is our Locum Tenens, His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah. We labor to follow Jesus Christ by living the Gospel, taking up our crosses daily, by adhering to the Traditions and Canons of the Orthodox Church, and emulating Christ and all the monastics such as St. Antony, St. Arsenius, St. Sabbas, St. Nil Sorsky and St. Silouan that have gone before us.

It was said of Abba Arsenius that he often asked himself, "Arsenius, why did you come to the desert?"
